Congratulations to Our Two Newly Licensed Reactor Operators
John Foster, NRL

The Nuclear Reactor Laboratory is pleased to announce that Tim Leurini and Keith Honeycutt have passed the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Senior Reactor Operator Licensing Exam. They join the other 18 members of reactor operations staff who hold NRC licenses to operate the MIT Nuclear Research Reactor. They spent months in our initial training program, which includes both theoretical and hands-on plant specific training, and will continue with their qualifications to become Shift Supervisors.

Tim was hired to fill a Shift Supervisor vacancy while Keith was hired to fill our new position of Requalification Program Coordinator. Tim and Keith both spent six years in the Navy’s Nuclear Power Program and bring a wealth of knowledge to the NRL team.
