The Nuclear Reactor Laboratory is pleased to announce that Sara Hauptman and Marshall Wade have passed the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) Licensing Exam, an achievement possible through hard work and dedication. 

They join the other 13 members of reactor operations staff who hold SRO NRC licenses to operate the MIT Nuclear Research Reactor. Sara is currently a junior in MIT's Nuclear Science and Engineering Department. She received her Reactor Operator license in November 2016 before starting her SRO training. Marshall spent 6 years in the U.S. Navy’s Nuclear Power Program as a Nuclear Electronics Technician. He served as a Reactor Operator and supervisor onboard the USS George Washington before joining the NRL in August 2017.
