Dane studied electrical engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and spent three subsequent years designing high power electronics hardware with lithium iron phosphate batteries at A123 Systems. In late 2012 he joined the NRL as Special Projects Engineer and designs controls systems for facility upgrades as well as hardware for in-core experiments.
